Frequently asked questions

Do you meet with us before the funeral?

Yes. I will meet with you — and anyone else you wish to include — to talk through the ceremony in a calm and supportive way. This meeting is a chance to share stories, discuss your wishes, and explore what made your loved one unique.

Can the ceremony include religious or spiritual elements?

Absolutely. The ceremony is entirely shaped around your wishes. Whether you prefer a non‑religious service, a gentle spiritual tone, or a blend of traditions, I will create something that feels right for you and your family.

How long does a funeral ceremony usually last?

Most services last between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the venue and the content you choose. We can include readings, music, tributes, moments of reflection, or anything meaningful to you.

Do you write the eulogy?

Yes, if you would like me to. I can write the full tribute based on our conversations, or I can support family members who wish to speak. Some families prefer a mix of both — whatever feels most comfortable.

Will you work with our funeral director?

I will liaise closely with your chosen funeral director, as well as the crematorium or cemetery staff, to ensure everything runs smoothly on the day. Clear communication helps create a calm, seamless experience for you.

Can we include music, poems, or personal touches?

Of course. One of the benefits of a celebrant-led funeral is that it can be very personal — music, poems, readings, or shared memories can all be included if you wish.

Do you provide a copy of the ceremony afterwards?

Yes. You will receive a presentation copy of the full ceremony as a keepsake — something to look back on and treasure.

How far do you travel?

I cover Leeds, Selby, York and the surrounding areas, but I’m always happy to discuss travel if you’re a little further afield.
